Short Track Super Series ‘Speed Showcase’ Opens Port Royal Speedway Season March 13-14
PORT ROYAL, PA – Port Royal Speedway will kick off its 2026 racing season this coming Friday and Saturday, March 13–14, with the return of the Short Track Super Series (STSS) Speed Showcase, bringing the top dirt Modified teams in the Northeast to the Juniata County half-mile.
The two-day program is headlined by the 60-lap STSS Modified main event paying $12,000 to win on Saturday afternoon, along with a 40-lap STSS Crate 602 Sportsman feature paying $4,000 to win. Also on the card are Pro Stocks racing for $1,250 to win and Four Cylinders competing in a 20-lap feature paying $500 to win.
The Speed Showcase has quickly developed into one of the marquee early-season events in the region, drawing teams from across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast to the Speed Palace.
Last season, Dillon Steuer captured the Speed Showcase victory at Port Royal Speedway, while Matt Sheppard took the win in the 2024 edition of the event.
Friday: Practice and Qualifying
Action begins Friday morning with an open practice session from 10am until noon, giving teams an opportunity to get dialed in before the evening’s qualifying program. Grandstand admission for the morning practice session will be free, with pit admission set at $30.
For the evening qualifying program, pit and grandstand gates open at 4pm, with hot laps scheduled for 6pm and qualifying beginning at 7pm for the STSS Modifieds, STSS Crate 602 Sportsman and Pro Stocks.
Friday evening grandstand admission will be $15 for adults, $10 for students ages 13-18, with kids 12 and under admitted free. Pit admission for the evening program is $40.
Saturday: Features Decide Speed Showcase Winners
Saturday’s championship program will see all gates open at noon, with hot laps scheduled for 2pm and racing beginning at 3pm. The program will begin with consolation races for the STSS divisions before moving into the afternoon’s feature events.
Saturday grandstand admission is $35 for adults and $15 for students ages 13–18, with children 12 and under admitted free. Pit admission is $45.
Camping and Streaming
Fans wishing to spend the weekend at the Speedway can take advantage of dry camping passes for $50, with electric hook-up sites available for $150 depending on availability.

Short Track Super Series and Port Royal Speedway officials have also been monitoring the weather situation in the local area over the coming days. It has been a wet few weeks in Juniata County, and ensuring that fans have a fit facility to experience the race is at the forefront of both teams' minds.
A decision on if the track and grounds are fit to hold the event will be made on Thursday to update fans and teams on what to expect for the weekend.
