Race Day Info

Can you bring your own food and drink?

Yes, spectators are allowed to bring your own food and drinks into the speedway. All backpacks and coolers must be less than 16 inches and no glass of any kind is allowed.

Can you have alcohol in the pits?

Only racing alcohol :-) No alcohol of any kind shall be consumed in the pit area.

What is the pet policy?

Service animals that perform tasks are welcome in all areas. Dogs are allowed in the camping area and must be kept on a leash and under control at all times. Owners must be respectful and clean up after their pets. Proof of rabies vaccine may be required. Consider this, just as all pet owners aren't race fans not all race fans are pet fans.

What if racing starts and it rains?

The full and complete rain/cancellation/postponement policy can be found on the website under the FAN INFO link.

Where can I buy tickets?

Season passes are sold at the Speedway office which is located in the middle of the fairgrounds. General Admission for weekly events can be purchased at the speedway office at the windows labeled general admission. Wristbands can also be purchased at the entrance to the tunnel. All weekly pit passes must be purchased at the pit gate.

What time does racing start?

The advertised time on the schedule is when heat racing begins. Hot laps are generally 1-hour prior to the scheduled start time. When time trials are on the schedule, time trials will begin at the scheduled start time on the schedule. When there are group time trials (gtt), they will take place during hot laps.

Where is general admission seating?

A general admission wristband will allow you to sit in any of the two main grandstands that do NOT have a RESERVED sticker on the seat back. If there is no RESERVED sticker on the seat back, that seat is available as general admission. The entire infield is also considered general admission.

Can I listen to the races on the radio?

Port Royal Speedway provides a short wave radio transmission of the public address system on the radio dial at 99.9 FM

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, ticket sales can be made by credit card at all ticket windows and inside the speedway office. A 3% service charge will be added to the purchase. Credit cards are also accepted at some concessions stands, but not all.

Is there camping?

There are 97 camping spots with electric hook-ups only that are rented on a seasonal basis. There are 206 dry camping spots (no hookups) available on a first-come, first-serve basis (except for fair week). Most spots are 20 x 60 feet. There are several electric spots available for nightly rental. These are reserved using the PRS website.

What is the cost for camping?

Electric spots are $40/night, and any available weekly sites can be reserved through the speedway’s website. Dry camping on regular race nights is free. For select, high-profile races, the cost is $25 for a 1-day show and $35 for a 2-day show. Those races include the Keith Kauffman Classic, Lucas Oil, the Weikert Memorial weekend, USAC, Appalachian Mountain Late Model Speedweek, and the Living Legends Dream Race.

When is the camping area open?

Our camping area opens at noon the day before the race. All campers must be off property by noon the day after the completion of all racing events. The gates will be locked at that time, and any remaining vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Camping for Fair Week/Tuscarora 50

All camping for Fair Week, August 31-September 7, 2024, is reserved. Those with 2023 reserved camping will be given the option to renew their spots before camping is open to the general public. Camping will go on sale sometime in July. Please watch our Facebook page for more information on when that will be available.
