Port Royal Speedway Cancels Weekend Racing Due to Saturated Grounds; Season Opener Now Set for March 21
PORT ROYAL, PA — Port Royal Speedway officials have announced the cancellation of this weekend’s racing activities due to recent rainfall and unsuitable track conditions.
Track officials noted that the crew has been regularly working at the speedway in attempts to get the surface race-ready. However, the saturated grounds have prevented the proper preparation needed to ensure a safe and competitive racing surface. Additional rainfall in the forecast has only complicated the issue, ultimately forcing the difficult decision to cancel the weekend’s events with the Short Track Super Series.
Fans who purchased advanced tickets or camping for this weekend’s event will receive full refunds. Additional information regarding the refund process will be communicated to those who made purchases.
Port Royal Speedway will now officially open the 2026 racing season on Saturday, March 21. The program will feature the Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars, competing in the PA Posse 410 Sprint Car Series for a $6,000 winner’s share, along with the Penske Racing Shocks Super Late Models.
Fans are encouraged to follow Port Royal Speedway’s official social media channels and website for additional updates regarding the upcoming season opener.
