Ryan Smith Wins Thrilling PA Posse Sprint Series Event; Max Blair Dominates in Super Late Models

Port Royal, PA - The field of Weikert's Livestock 410 sprint cars was flush with top tier competition at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night. National touring drivers, invaders from out of state, and PA regulars were all in attendance for the J&S Classics PA Posse 410 Sprint Series presented by Hoseheads.com event. Ryan Smith was the driver who topped all the competition and parked in Kish Bank Victory Lane at the end of the night.

Troy Wagaman Jr. and Chase Dietz composed the front row of the 25 lap A-main event with Wagaman getting out to the early advantage at the race start.

Dietz would briefly battled with Ryan Smith for the runner-up position before mounting a charge down the front straightaway and pulling a sliding pass around Wagaman in turn 1 for the race lead with 23 laps remaining.

While the Stehman racing machine led the field, 2025 track champion Justin Whittall would start to pick his way through the top positions from his 6th starting spot.

Whittall would get by Ryan Smith for the 3rd place position through turns 3 and 4 with 19 laps remaining and would do the same to Wagaman for the 2nd position just one lap later.

Over the next 3 laps, Whittall would cut into Dietz lead and would be tight to his tail tank battling for the top position.

Whittall would attempt to make the pass in turn 3 while also trying to navigate lapped traffic but would make minor contact with a lapped car, spinning him around the ring, drawing the caution and sending Whittall to the work area.

Dietz, with the field reset behind, would jump out to the lead again with Ryan Smith, Troy Wagaman, and now Brent Marks all going to battle for the remaining podium positions.

Smith would track down Dietz for the lead in turns 1 and 2, peeking to Dietz's inside, with 9 laps remaining in the main event.

Though unable to make the pass that time, the top two drivers would swap lanes the next time around, and Smith was able to get around Dietz for the lead.

The battle for the lead was far from over though as the two drivers still needed to parse their way through the remaining lapped traffic who was taking up a lot of space in front of them.

The two would stay within a car length of each other over the closing laps, with the two briefly exchanging positions with 5 laps remaining.

The 69K would prove to be the strength of the field though; taking the lead back and holding on to win the $6,000 payday.

"That had to be pretty entertaining," said Smith in Kish Bank Victory Lane. "I know it was from my seat! Donnie and Davey gave me an awesome car. When it's like this, I'm the guy to beat"

Chase Dietz would finish in the runner up spot and Troy Wagaman Jr. would round out the podium.

Logan Wagner would earn Ramsey's Car Wash Hard Charger honors for passing 8 cars during the A-main event.

Garrett Bard would claim an extra $1,000 courtesy of the J&S Classics Warrior Award for having the 24 pill drawn in victory lane.

In Penske Racing Shocks super late model competition, Max Blair was the class of the field.

Blair, a regular with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, would lead all 25 laps of the A-main event and his lead was nearly 10 seconds by the end of the race.

The best battle for position would come between the drivers who would finish in the 2nd and 3rd place positions, as Greg Satterlee would take the runner up spot away from Justin Weaver on the final lap.

Port Royal Speedway will be back in action on Saturday April 18th with Penske Racing Shocks super late models, Penns Valley Meat Market 305 sprint cars, and River Rock Campground limited late models.

The night will also consist of 2 makeup feature events from the postponed event on April 4th meaning their will be a whopping 5 features run at The Speed Palace that night.

The J&S Classics PA Posse 410 Sprint Series presented by Hoseheads.com will be back in action on Friday April 17th at Williams Grove Speedway.
