Keith Kauffman Classic Set For This Saturday at Port Royal Speedway; Empire Super Sprints Also to Feature

Port Royal, PA -- The Speed Palace is ready to kick off its huge month of May this Saturday May 16th with the Keith Kauffman Classic. The night will feature the Weikert's Livestock 410 sprint cars alongside the Empire Super Sprint 360 sprint cars. The night is presented by BCI in memory of Jim Bradley.

The prestigious event will pay $16,000-to-win for the J&S Classics PA Posse 410 Sprint Car presented by Hoseheads.com feature, while the Empire Super Sprints will battle for a $4,000 top prize. The 410 sprint car A-main purse alone exceeds $47,000, setting the stage for a blockbuster night of racing.

Thanks to our friends at TC Transport, the purse increased an extra $1,000 from it's originally scheduled purse advertised weeks ago as the put an extra $500 on both the 2nd and 3rd place payouts in memory of co-owner Toby Capparelle who passed away unexpectedly on March 10th.

Additional contingency money has also been added to the evening. Heat race winners for the 410 sprint cars will each receive a $250 bonus courtesy of Wray’s Landscaping, B&B Sealcoating, Modern Home Realty, and Big Daddy’s Grill & Chill. In addition, the first non-qualifier in the B-main will receive a $250 award courtesy of AnthonyMacriMerch.com.

Drivers competing for the contingency bonuses must display a special K33 decal during racing activities. Decals will be distributed at the speedway.

This also marks the first appearance of the Empire Super Sprints at Port Royal Speedway. While fans can expect an exciting field of 410 sprint cars, a mix of regulars and new faces will also be turning laps around the half mile on Saturday night.

While the on-track action will be a major attraction, the night will also serve as a celebration of legendary Port Royal Speedway driver Keith Kauffman and his unforgettable career at the Juniata County oval.

A fully restored K33 sprint car famously driven by Kauffman to numerous victories at Port Royal Speedway will be on display throughout the evening. Fans will also have the opportunity to meet Kauffman during a special autograph session featuring exclusive hero cards.

Kish Bank has also provided exclusive event shirts that will be thrown out to fans throughout the night, while additional Kauffman-themed giveaways and activities will take place inside the Port Royal Speedway Ministries Fan Zone.

General admission for the event is $30, students ages 13-17 are $20, and children ages 12 and under are admitted free. Pit admission is $40.

Event times for Saturday are:

Pits Open: 4PM
Gates Open: 5PM
Hot Laps: 6PM
Racing Starts: 7PM

Fans are encouraged to arrive early as the month of May looks to be an exciting one at Port Royal Speedway from start to finish.
